These two workshops review the areas of financial literacy necessary for anyone interested in understanding the basics of purchasing a home in the Bay Area. Attendance at the workshops and a subsequent one on one counseling session qualifies individuals for a First Time Homebuyers Certificate required by the San Francisco Mayors Office of Housing and the San Francisco Redevelopment agencies below market rate (BMR) housing purchase programs, and down payment assistance programs.
How does a lender qualify you to buy a home? Who do you need to work with to help you purchase a home? Are you ready to buy a home in San Francisco, or anywhere in the bay area? What are all these terms you hear thrown about: LTV, debt ratio, closing costs, short sale, REO, points….. Do I need to know my credit score, for that matter what is a credit score? What is a good credit score? What is good credit? How do I get some of this bad credit off my report? How can I save money living in San Francisco?
Lenders, Title Companies, Appraisers, Escrow companies and on and on, all will be discussed and revealed to help you gain as much
knowledge as possible pre-purchase, in order to help you make a sound decision as to whether or not you even want to be a home owner.
